Theatre, from the Greek theatron… literally "place for viewing"

Both the anatomy theatre and the dance theatre are spaces for viewing the body as spectacle. It is here where the seemingly opposing worlds of medicine and art collide. Performing Medicine: The Anatomy Season seeks to explore this connection, to peel back the skin, to look inside and to reveal how perspective changes everything.

Welcome to the Anatomy Cardiff blog, a space to talk about Performing Medicine: The Anatomy Season coming to Wales Millennium Centre from 26th November to 7th December.

A series of conversations, performances and workshops inspired by the theme of anatomy, The Anatomy Season is a truly unique offering at the Centre, which is why we’re so excited to talk about it here, to  share the views and insights of diverse contributors involved in the season and to reach out to a wide rage of audiences and encourage them to join the conversation.

Theatr, o'r gair Groeg theatron...yn llythrennol, "lle i wylio neu I edrych".

Mae theatr yr anatomi a theatr ddawns ill dau yn llefydd i edrych ar y corff fel rhywbeth i’w wylio. Dyma lle mae dau fyd sy’n ymddangos fel petaen nhw i’r gwrthwyneb i’ w gilydd, meddygaeth a chelf, yn dod at ei gilydd. Mae Performing Medicine: Tymor Anatomi yn ceisio archwilio’r cysylltiad yma, i bilio’r croen yn ôl, i edrych y tu mewn ac i ddatgelu sut mae persbectif yn newid popeth.

Croeso i’r blog Anatomy Cardiff, sy’n le i siarad am Performing Medicine: Y Tymor Anatomi sy’n dod i Ganolfan Mileniwm Cymru rhwng 26 Tachwedd a 7 Rhagfyr.
Mae Tymor Anatomi yn gyfres o sgyrsiau, perfformiadau a gweithdai wedi’i hysbrydoli gan thema’r anatomi. Mae’n rywbeth gwirioneddol unigryw yn y Ganolfan, a dyna pam ein bod ni mor gyffrous wrth siarad amdano fan hyn, i rannu barn a safbwyntiau’r cyfranwyr amrywiol sy’n rhan o’r tymor ac i estyn allan at amrywiaeth eang o gynulleidfaoedd a’u hannog i ymuno yn y sgwrs.
